SAE BAND ROCKS ON...!
The Madras Christian College grounds will never be the same again. Out of ten big bands of guys n gals, BAND SAE emerged as one of the winners in the Light Music Competition at the MCC Culturals or Deepwoods as it's popularly called.
Winning 2nd place for a team of 14 students was an all time high for BAND SAE.
Thaaye Yashodhaa - A heart rending solo by Mrinalini with back up vocals by Vignesh, Sachin and Maqbool set the tone of this tremendous win.
Jose Franklin, Kishen & SreeGanesh on the Keyboards, Jophan and Saravanan on the Mirudangam, Dilip on the Tabla, Sanith on Drums, Ashwin on Base Guitar and Sreekumar on the flute provided the near professional touch to this classical number. Jithin Das on the violin had the crowd asking for more. The sheer difference in choice of song lent that special touch of class to the BAND SAE performance.
Music Down the Years - The best hits from the various eras of film music was chosen to turn the second number into a seamless song of sorts! Ilayaraja, AR Rahman, Harris, Yuvan - name the composer and BAND SAE had one stanze each from the popular hits down the ages and this had the audience cheering the BAND into an encore!
Day and night practice sessions at the SAE studio, superb coordination, initiative and relentless driving up the wall between classrooms and studios, BAND SAE made it to the SECOND PLACE in this most coveted and highly competitive Cultural Extravaganza.
Team SAE includes: Sandhya, Asha, Harsha, Durga and Karthikeyan who put this winning act together amidst various day to day responsibilities.
